Like Isaiah, Israel realized that sinful people in the presence of the one true and holy God were in danger of being destroyed. Isaiah cries out woe is me, and Israel was afraid.

But Moses tells Israel that God did not intend for them to fear in a way that drove them from him. He intended them to fear him in away that drew them near to him. This presupposes that atonement will be provided for their sins.

It is true that the Law does not as a covenant provide for this atonement, but it does often point forward to the day when it will be provided (Romans 3:21 "But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it").

Does that answer your question?

For those with ears to ear, Exodus 20:20 was a promise to Israel that God would provide atonement for their sin.????

I would love to know how we can come to this conclusion, especially from my understanding of Romans 6 to 8.

Please expand!!!
